Emerald Lake, in Yoho National Park in the province of British Columbia, is one of the smaller but one of the most scenic parks of the Canadian Rockies. Surrounded by mountain peaks, the remarkable color of the lake is the result of fine particles of glacial sediment suspended in the water.
