South Iceland has a plethora of diverse natural wonders. Some are well-known waterfalls (see Gullfoss, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss Galleries). Others are not as well known waterfalls (Faxafoss, Irarfoss, Gljufrabui, and Foss-a-Sidu); while many others are nameless and/or hidden waterfalls.
Solheimajokull, an outlet tongue of Myrdalsjokull (second largest glacier in Iceland), offers accessibility and unique guided glacier hiking experiences. Expansive lava fields (see Eldhraun Gallery) and multiple volcanoes are additional South Iceland highlights.
