Ventisquero Negro (Black Glacier) is one of eight glaciers on Cerro Tronador (Mt. Tronador) in the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Its name is due to the dirt and sediment this glacier picks up giving it a characteristic dark color, differentiating it from the other typical glaciers. With its peak rising above all others in the region, Ventisquero Negro stands as a highlight of the southern Andes and overlooks the crater lake of the now extinct Tronador volcano.
