Gullfoss, one of the most famous and recognizable waterfalls in Iceland, is located in a canyon of the (Langjokull Glacier-fed) Hvita River. Unlike most waterfalls that are viewed from the bottom, Gullfoss is unique because it is viewed from above--providing multiple angles, each offering a stunning perspective of this powerful waterfall plunging into a gorge (crevice) of foaming water.
