Folaldafoss Waterfall, in the Berufjardara river in East Iceland, is one of my most adventurous and exciting experiences. While traveling on a Ring Road tour around the fjords of East Iceland, there’s a “short cut” one can take through the foggy Oxi mountain pass (Route 939) saving driving distance and time. The challenge of this steep, unpaved, curvy road full of dips and bounces under the skill of an expert driver (while surrounded by the spectacular scenery) is an amazing experience! You will pass a plethora of impressive waterfalls including Haenubrekkufoss, Mulafoss (Djupivogur), Hemrufoss, Vagnabrekkafoss, Falkasfoss, Stekkasfoss, and a couple of unnamed ones!
