The scenic Fardagafoss waterfall, located near the road leading to Seydisfjordur, is about 6 km from Egilsstadir. After a relatively short (in Iceland terms) hike uphill, you will look down and see Fardagafoss in a gorge surrounded by huge rocks on both sides providing an enchanting view. The hiking trail also offers views over the nearby valley. Going further, the terrain can be a bit challenging, with the last portion of the hike requiring the aid of a chain drilled into the rock to descend to the falls. Proceed at your own risk.
