Bow Lake, one of several iconic lakes along the Icefields Parkway, is located half an hour north of Lake Louise on the Bow River, in the Canadian Rockies. High above the lake, the Bow Glacier forms the headwaters that flow down the Bow River to Banff and beyond. In the early summer as the lake thaws, it turns a turquoise blue from the glacier melt of the Crowfoot Glacier and Wapta Icefield.
