Located in south Iceland and considered as a bonus to the Golden Circle tour, Kerid is a 3000 year old, 55m deep and 270m wide volcanic crater lake with vivid red slopes and aquamarine (although it was green in September) water. One side of the slope is covered in green moss. It’s also possible to walk down a pathway to the crater’s bottom for a closer look and to explore and walk around the crater rim.
