The vast Eldhraun Lava Field (over 215 square miles in South Iceland) is one of the largest in the world. Dating back to a late 1700s volcano eruption, this stunningly surreal place is like no other. Also, note that in early Autumn, moss retains its grayish-green color; however later in Autumn, moss color changes to a light brown-tan. It's like being on another world.
