Faxafoss, also known as Faxi, is a wide waterfall in South Iceland in the Tungufljót river and has been described as the perfect addition to the nearby Golden Circle tour which includes Gullfoss (see Gallery), Geysir and Kerid Crater (see Gallery) and Thingvellir National Park (see Gallery). Faxi is a serene natural attraction that also draws those who enjoy its bountiful salmon fishing. And, with Faxi located just a couple of minutes walk from the parking lot no hiking is required. There is also a nearby corral used during the Nationwide Rettir (annual sheep round-up).
